Bonding & Grounding

Antistatic Grounding Wires are used to prevent sparks that can be created from static electricity. These sparks can be generated by the movement of personnel and equipment/material and the flow of flammable liquids during their use and transfer.

Specific care should be taken when conducting waste collection operations. The employment of antistatic wires is crucial in minimizing spark activity between a safety container to a receiving vessel (such as a funnel) and then properly grounding by attaching a second antistatic wire to the drum and then to an earth ground. Always refer to material SDS and handling sheets when using hazardous chemicals.
