Johnson Controls launches their next generation clean agent fire extinguishers; CLEANGUARD+.
The new CLEANGUARD+ extinguishers are compliant with the American Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) Act of 2020, which implements requirements to phase down production, consumption, and transition away from the use of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).
The new generation of CLEANGUARD+ models, CA03, CA07, CA13 and CA14-NM utilize electrically nonconductive, FK-5-1-12 agent and feature the following:
- Zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP)
- Global Warming Potential (GWP) less than 1
- One-week Atmospheric Lifespan
Ideal for commercial and industrial facilities that contain sensitive and/or irreplaceable equipment, sensitive or rare documents and or other valuable assets, CLEANGUARD+ extinguishers are residue-free, corrosion-resistant and require no clean-up after discharge.
The low toxicity of the FK-5-1-12 agent also means that these products can be safely discharged in smaller spaces compared to other agents in use in the fire protection industry.
The new line of CLEANGUARD+ extinguishers utilize similar hardware as legacy CLEANGUARD products. The most notable differences in the new lineup of extinguishers are with the CA13 and CA14-NM models.
Legacy products used a larger diameter / height cylinder. The CA13 model will now have the same diameter as the SENTRY 10S shell, allowing for a better fit within fire extinguisher cabinets. The new CA14- NM extinguisher now has a TESLA rating of 7.0 and is available in a much shorter size to assist with limited space applications.
All models have QR coded model and UL / ULC serial numbers to simplify inspection and maintenance record keeping.
