Aqueous Vermiculite Dispersion (AVD) is a revolutionary new extinguishing agent that uses fixed and portable delivery techniques to effectively combat lithium-ion battery fires. Lithium battery failure can be caused by physical impact or penetration, overheating, short circuits, internal cell failure and manufacturing defects resulting in a thermal runaway. With lithium batteries being used in a wide range of technologies from e-transportation to energy storage, there is an increased risk of high temperature lithium battery fires as part of your fire safety strategy.
AVD agent has been tested as effective on Lithium Battery Fires based on NTA8133 and witnessed by Underwriters Labs.
The UL/ULC Certification is for use on class A Fires, Underwriters Labs currently does NOT have test criteria for Lithium-Ion Battery Fire Protection (Nov/2024)
